e-ISSN : 2807-1441

p-ISSN : 2775-426X

DOI : https://doi.org/10.57079/fcs
https://jurnal.imavi.org/index.php/felicitas/article/view/148Perbandingan Doktrin Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus (EENS) di Zaman Siprianus dari Kartago dan Konsili Vatikan II2025-06-05T03:04:34+07:00Adrian Hartono Atmadjaja[email protected]
The doctrine Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus (EENS), meaning “outside the Church there is no salvation,” has been a central tenet of Catholic theology and a source of theological debate throughout history. This paper addresses the research question: how has the understanding of EENS developed from the time of Cyprian of Carthage to the Second Vatican Council? The purpose of this study is to analyze the historical and theological contexts of EENS in both periods and explore its contemporary pastoral implications. The discussion reveals that in the third century, Cyprian emphasized EENS as a response to internal schisms threatening Church unity, especially during Roman persecutions. Conversely, the Second Vatican Council offered a more inclusive interpretation of salvation. While reaffirming Christ and the Church as necessary for salvation, the Council acknowledged the possibility of salvation for those outside the Catholic Church who sincerely seek God. The conclusion affirms that EENS today should not be understood as exclusivist, but rather as a theological invitation for the Church to proclaim God's love through interreligious dialogue and openness to religious diversity.
2025-08-29T00:00:00+07:00Hak Cipta (c) 2025 Adrian Hartono Atmadjajahttps://jurnal.imavi.org/index.php/felicitas/article/view/149Fenomena Bunuh Diri dalam Terang Dokumen Gereja untuk Memahami Tujuan Hidup Manusia Kristiani bersama Kristus2025-05-26T09:00:46+07:00Ambrosius Armando Sakti Kurniawan[email protected]
The phenomenon of suicide is increasingly common among students and it also occurs in several universities in Surabaya. What actually happened that made these students dare to do such actions? The author sees that this phenomenon is related to a person's self-existence, including identity crisis, emotional disstress, void in the meaning of life. From the perspective of the Catholic Church, human life has an ultimate goal, which is to unite with Christ. Church documents such as Spe Salvi and Veritatis Splendor help a Christian to see that true happiness does not lie in worldly satisfaction, but in a relationship with God and the hope of eternal life. The Catholic Church offers a transformative solution to this existential crisis, by inviting humans to understand the meaning of misery in the light of the cross of Jesus Christ and finding true happiness in faith and love for God.
2025-08-29T00:00:00+07:00Hak Cipta (c) 2025 Ambrosius Armando Sakti Kurniawanhttps://jurnal.imavi.org/index.php/felicitas/article/view/147Imago Dei Berhadapan dengan Pernikahan Sesama Jenis2025-05-27T02:37:14+07:00Wiliam Marcellino[email protected]
The phenomenon of same-sex marriage has elicited various responses—socially, culturally, and theologically. This paper is motivated by the need to understand how the concept of imago Dei, or the human being as the image and likeness of God, confronts the reality of same-sex marriage within the framework of Catholic teaching. The purpose of this writing is to critically examine the Church’s perspective on human dignity, particularly concerning individuals who identify as LGBTQ+, and to explore the theological stance on same-sex unions. The central question raised is how the imago Dei is understood in relation to human identity and how this notion interacts with the reality of same-sex marriage.

The discussion covers theological insights from the Book of Genesis, the thoughts of the Church Fathers, and official Church documents such as Fiducia Supplicans. The author concludes that although humans inherently bear the image of God, the effects of original sin and concupiscence have led to misuses of free will. Same-sex unions do not reflect the original purpose of human creation as intended by God. Nevertheless, those involved in such relationships still retain their dignity as God's creation. The Church is thus called to accompany and guide them toward the truth revealed in Christ.
2025-08-29T00:00:00+07:00Hak Cipta (c) 2025 Wiliam Marcellinohttps://jurnal.imavi.org/index.php/felicitas/article/view/150Peran Kepemimpinan Visioner terhadap Keterlibatan Kaum Muda dalam Gereja Katolik2025-06-05T03:07:40+07:00Yehezkiel Divo Maretio[email protected]
The involvement of young people in the life of the Catholic Church faces serious challenges amid the VUCA era (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity). The low participation of Millennials and Generation Z raises concerns about the continuity of the Church’s mission. This study investigates the role of visionary leadership in encouraging youth involvement in the Catholic Church. The purpose of this research is to analyze the influence and relevance of visionary leadership in addressing the dynamics of youth engagement and to formulate leadership strategies aligned with their characteristics. The findings show that visionary leadership—emphasizing clear communication, adaptability to change, and the ability to provide direction and meaning in action—is highly effective in engaging young people. Visionary leaders serve as direction-setters, change agents, spokespersons, and coaches who integrate Church values with the pragmatic and digital native nature of today’s youth. In conclusion, visionary leadership is not only relevant but a strategic necessity to strengthen the active participation of younger generations in the Church. As such, the Church can remain contextual and vibrant in facing contemporary challenges.
2025-08-29T00:00:00+07:00Hak Cipta (c) 2025 Yehezkiel Divo Maretiohttps://jurnal.imavi.org/index.php/felicitas/article/view/146Rencana Strategis Pengembangan Kompetensi Pemimpin Umat Paroki Yesus Tersalib Balai Sepuak di Keuskupan Sanggau, Kalimantan Barat2025-05-26T06:00:31+07:00Philipus Gunung[email protected]Petrus Canisius Edi Laksito[email protected]
This research aims to meet the needs of the Crucified Jesus Parish, Balai Sepuak, in improving the competence of Community Leaders. In particular, the Parish of Jesus Crucified Balai Sepuak needs to increase the competence of its Community Leaders in carrying out their pastoral care duties to assist the Parish Pastor, and therefore a Strategic Plan for Developing the Competency of Community Leaders is needed. Therefore, the planning of the National Strategic Plan must focus on things that will be developed to improve the Competence of Community Leaders. The strategic plan and targets are designed using the ADDIE model which stands for Analyzing, Designing, Developing, Implementing and Evaluating. At the needs analysis stage during interviews with the Parish Pastor of Jesus Crucified Balai Sepuak as Rensta user, the Vikjen as an expert, and the Community Leader, it was found that three topics were needed in the Development of Community Leader Competency. This program is designed for five years and covers three areas of development, namely, worship, preaching/teaching and pastoral care. The Strategic Plan has been reviewed by experts consisting of Vijen and the Parish Pastor of Jesus Crucified Balai Sepuak, as well as one of the representatives of the Community Leaders. The content of the Strategic Plan presented is based on its scope, starting from the Vision and Mission to strategic targets. A Strategic Plan was socialized to the Ummah Leaders, and one of the representatives of the Ummah Leaders showed positive comments, especially regarding the Strategic Plan.
2025-08-29T00:00:00+07:00Hak Cipta (c) 2025 Philipus Gunung
